SAVE THE MOTHERS
OBSTETRICAL SOCIETY'S APPEAL THE LOCAL RESPONSE. A meeting of the local committee organised in connection with the Obstetrical Society's appeal was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs S. Lewis ingThe secretary, Mrs S. N. Ziman, reported that as a result of the committee members'-canvass £BO was already in hand. There was a little more promised, but as the figure stood at.present they" would be slightly short of the objective—£loo. The collectors reported themselves pleased with the response to their individual appeals. The hope was expressed that the district would send away the full amount, and that some of the district residents would come forward and make this possible. The president expressed appreciation of the good services of the committee and canvassers.
It might be mentioned that any further donations will be gladly received by the president, Mrs Lewis, or the hon. secretary, Mrs Ziman.
