PERSONAL. Mrs Woodward, of Auckalnd, is staying with Miss Jackson. Miss Eona Taylor, who has ,been staying with her aunt, Mrs G. G. L. Taylor, for some time, left for Auckland on Monday. Mrs Inncs Taylor and Miss A. Netson returned from Auckland on Monday. Mr and Mrs D. E, Caldwell returned from Auckland on Tuesday, after seeing Mr and Mrs B. Farquhar and son off to Sydney.. BRIDGE PARTY. On Friday eyening, Mrs Ray Wilson, of French Pass, entertained a few friends at bridge, when a most enjoyable time was spent. The drawing-room was arranged with bowls of asters, zinnias, and hydrangeas. Mrs Wilson was wearing a navy blue crepe de chine frock; Mrs J. Sawcrs, mauve georgette; Mrs S. Lewis, oyster ninon and lace; Mrs Skeet, black lace; Mrs Rush, red eharmeuse,; Mrs Jasper Smith, black and white beaded georgette; Miss Crowther, rose pink velvet; Miss Skeet, cherry and ivory spotted roarocain. •■-.."• , EVENING PARTY. On Saturday evening Mrs E'ttwislo, of Fcncourt, entertained a number of friends.at progressive bridge, which everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy.. The drawing-room was decorated with multi-coloured dahlias. The prizes were won by Mrs Latimer and Mr Skeet. Mrs Entwisle was wearing a black georgette and lace frock; Mrs Neely, tdack velvet and black bridge coat; Mrs Skeet, black crepe de chine; Mrs H. Ferguson, floral c*repe de chine; Mrs P. Hunt, black embossed georgette; Mrs Latimer, saxe blue georgette; Mrs S. Lewis, black georgette and beige lace; Mrs Short, black crepe de chine; Miss E. Griffiths, black satin and bridge coat; Miss B. Griffiths, apricot georgette; Miss Garland, saxe blue georgette; Miss Short, cerise velvet;. Miss Skeet, rose pink georgette. The men present were Messrs Entwisle (2), Latimer, P. Hunt, Griffiths, Skeet, Simpson, Clemow and H. Neely.

GARDEN PARTY. Mrs T. Eobinson, of Eoto-o-rangi, gave a very pleasant garden part}- on Tuesday last, in honour of Miss Audrey Nolan. Tennis, croquet, clock golf and competitions were indulged in. The golf croquet was. won by Miss M. Souter, while in a competition Misses Clemow and Miss E. Souter tied, the former, being declared the winner on a draw. .'■•-.

TENNIS DANCE. A very enjoyable dance, arranged by Miss Jessie Thompson and friends, was held in the Hautapu Hall last evening and was well patronised by dancers from all parts of the district. The hall was tastefully decorated and during the evening a bountiful'supper was handed round. Popular dance music was supplied by Mr Clayton and Miss Strawbridgo, assisted by Mr Jack Young.
