CAMBRIDGE SUB-ASSOCIATION. THE EASTER TOURNAMENT. Last night a meeting of the Cambridge Lawn Tennis Sub-Association was held at St. Andrew’s Hall. Mr A. R. Cox (president) occupied the chair, and others present were: Messrs J. Giles, Frank Swayne, T. Appleby, F. Entwislc, R. Morrison, A. R. Thomas and Frank Penn. It was resolved to hold the usual handicap tournament at Easter, provided the Cambridge Club would agree to loan their courts, and subject to permission being granted by the Waikato Association.

After discussing the programme, it was decided to adopt the same programme of events as for last year, with the addition of boys’ and girls’ doubles. The children’s events were restricted to children of under 16 years of age at date of closing of entries. Children’s events will not commence until the third day of the tournament. Messrs HoUisj-R-obinson, F. Swayne, Morrison, Giles and Entwisle were appointed handicappers for the tournament, and Mr R. Morrison as referee. The appointment of an officer to supervise the play, prepare score sheets, etc., was left to the secretary and Mr Morrison. The matter of refreshments at the courts was referred to the Cambridge Clxib to take what action it thought fit.

Various matters concerning the tournament were discussed. The opinion was freely expressed that a successful tournament was assured.

EXHIBITION GAMES.

AUSTRALIANS AT HAMILTON.

On Tuesday afternoon last lovers of good tennis had a rare treat, being enabled to see the visiting Australians in action against a team of Waikato representatives. The weather was fine, and there was a large attendance at the Hamilton courts to witness the play, among the visitors being a sprinkling of Cambridge enthusiasts.

The visitors won all their four matches, but the play was interesting throughout. In the doubles match in which Kalms and Teague met Laurenson and Sims (Waikato), the local men put up a good fight, winning the first set, but in all the other matches the visitors had easy victories. The following are the results of the play:—

Doubles. F. E. Kalms and W. Teague (Australia) beat A. W. Sims and Dr J. T. Laurenson (Waikato), 4 —6, 6 —4, 6 —3. C. J. Donohue and C. Sproule (Australia) beat G. Brough and Dr Gray (Waikato), 6—l, 6—3. Singles. Teague (Australia) beat Dr Gray (Waikato), 6—3, 6—l. Kalms (Australia) beat Laurenson (Waikato), 6—2, 6—o. Sproule (Australia) beat Sims (Waikato), 6—l, 6—2. Donohue (Australia) beat Brough (Waikato), 6—3.

WAIKATO BANNER.

CAMBRIDGE IN FINAL

Lower Waikato having forfeited its match for the Waikato Banner, against Cambridge, arranged to bo played next Saturday, Cambridge will now be in the final and w r ill meet the winners of the match, Hamilton v. Waikato East, which takes place next Saturday.

CAMBRIDGE B V. MORRINSVILLE.

On Saturday next Morrinsville players will journey to Cambridge and meet a Cambridge Sub-Association B team. The following will represent Cambridge:—Cox, A. Thomas, Wilson, Miller, L. Haworth, D. Clow, Misses Priestley, Short, J. Feisst, Wood, V. Appleby and Jamieson. Emergencies: Feisst, Roberts, Williams, Misses McLarnon, Dagg and Mrs Nickle. Ladies are requested to bring a basket. Any of 'above unable to play should notify the secretary (Mr J. Giles) at once.
