CONTROL OF DEER.
CONFERENCE TO BE HELD. DUNEDIN, March 11. There has been for some time a controversy over the control of deer in New Zealand, and to-day the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. "L\ A. dc la Pcrrellc, stated that he had gone very carefully into the whole question, and it had been decided to hold a conference of those interested in Christchurch on May 7.
It is understood that the proposed conference will be fully representative of all parties concerned, namely, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Acclimatisation Societies of the Dominion, the Forestry Department, and the Farmers' Federation.
"It is my desire," remarked Mr de la Perrelle, "to see some equitable arrangement made for tho control of deer, and I think that when the personnel of the conference is announced it will have the confidence of all interested in this vexed question."
