MARKET'S BETTER TONE. Cable advice received by exporting firms in Auckland yesterday disclose that the London dairy market is firmer and that there has been an advance in prices. Butter was quoted at 140/- to 142/- and cheese at 83/- to 84/-. The quotations last week were 138/- for butter, the lowest for eight years, and 8.1/- for cheese. Leonard and Son, Limited, were advised by their London principal, Mr A. C. Eowson, that the markets for both butter and cheese had turned. Butter was quoted at 141/- and cheese at 83/-, and both markets were stated to be firmer. The cablegram added that further advances in prices were expected.

Joseph Nathan, Limited, received the following cablegram from their London house, Trengrouse and Nathan, Limited :—Butter: 140/- to 142/-. Cheese: White, 83/- to 84/-; coloured, 84/-. The market is firmer.
