CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE The secretary of the Waikato Central Agricultural Association (Mr G. H. Bellamy) has received the following telegram from the Hon. Mr W. Nosworthy (Minister for Agriculture): — "It is intended to hold Producers' Conference Farmers' Institute, Wellington, Tuesday, January 10th, at 11 o'clock, discuss meat pool proposals, which have been prepared in interests of producers. Please co-operate with Farmers' Union and other farmers' organisations your locality, and with them arrange combined meeting bona fide producers to elect one producer delegate attend conference. Government desires fullest consideration question. Wire result meeting.—W. Nosworthy, Minister of. Agriculture." In response to the request, the Agricultural Association has convened a meeting of farmers, to be held at the Farmers' Clubroom, Cambridge on Saturday next, 31st inst., at 2.30 p.m., to elect a delegate from this district to attend the conference referred to. This matter is a most important one, and therefore we trust that there will be a large and representative gathering of farmers on Saturday.

MANCHESTER FAVOURABLE (By Telegraph —Press Association) > WELLINGTON, Dec. 27. The Prime Minister has received the following cablegram: "Manchester will gladly co-operate in your meat export proposals, providing dock storage and distributing facilities through existing channels to the advantage of one fifth of tho population of Great Britain." The message is signed by Mr Simon, Lord Mayor, Mr W. C. Bacon, chairman of the Manchester Ship Canal, and Mr Marshall Stevens, M.P., chairman of the Trafford Park Cold Storage and Manchester!
