PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH.

The circuit quarterly meeting in connection with the above Church took place at Leamington on Wednesday last. There was a large attendance, and the Rev. J. Clover, of Hamilton, presided, the Rev. H. Poston acting as secretary. Much valuable work was transacted, and the Rev. Mr Foston, the minister in charge, was heartily thanked for his services in lecturing, with an earnest request that it should be repeated at Leamington and Cambridge as soon as possible. An increase of membership was reported. The following resolution was heartily carried: “That this meeting places on record its high appreciation of the faithful services rendered by Miss Annie Sirapsori during her connection withthe Church, is delighted to hear of her proposed visit to various parts of the world, trusts she will have a most enjoyable time, a safe voyage and pleasant travelling experiences, and commits her to the Almighty Father’s care, and - prays that ehe may be spared to return to the work she loves so well.” The following officers were elected: —Circuit Stewarts: Messrs C. S. Beer and J. Carter. Society Stewards: Leamington, Messrs R. 'Waite and C. S. Beer; FencrtUrt, Messrs T. Simpson,, G. Simpson and G. W. Beer; Goodwood, Mr W. R. Beer; Karapiro, Mr Graham. Sacrament Stewards: Fencourt, Miss J. R Jamieson; Learnington,. Mrs Poston. A general forward movement was heartily sanctioned for Leamington and a committee set up to carry out the same. The next quarterly meeting was fixed for September sth, at Fencourt. The balance-sheet was considered a good one. It was decided to reportjthe work in an improved condition, and the prospects brighter, and appreciation was expressed of the efforts put forth by the minister during the time he has been in the district. Sanction was given for a fortnight’s mission to be conducted by the minister and the Rev.‘W. Tinsley, commencing on Sunday, 4th inst., for the deepening of the spiritual life. The quarterly meeting? social was held in the evening, presided over by the Rev. J. Clover, of Hamilton, who gave a fine address on “What tne world owes to the ethical side of Christianity.” The following programme was rendered:—Anthem, “God’s . Holy Church.” Fencourt friends; solo, Mrs Shepherd, encored; recitation, Miss A. Simpson; solo, Mr Perkins; statement, Rev. H. Foston; solo, Miss Armstrong; recitation, Mr W. Beer; solo, Mrs Mack; reading, Rev. H. Foston; solo, Mr W. Beer; song, “Don’t Judge a Man by his Coat,” Rev. H. Foston; anthem, Ihe Future Lies Before Me,” Fencourt friends. Votes of thanks were passed to all who had assisted, and after refreshments had been handed round ard the Doxology sung the gathering dispersed, having had a most enjoyable time.
