Volunteering.

The No. 3 Waikato M.R. paraded at Cambridge on Saturday. There >vas a very good muster of the squadron under Captain Walker and Lieuts. Hay and Lewis. Staff-sergt.-major Coleman was also present. Squadron drill and semaphore signalling was practised at the parade. During the evening Surgeon-captain Roberts gave an interesting ambulance lecture, which was generally appreciated by the members of the squadron, and another lecture is promised on the 28th. when a good muscer of the squadron is assured. Sergt-major Bruce was elected to the vacant lieutenancy, and Sergt. Simpson appointed Sergt.-major. The squadron is steadily recruiting a desirable class of men, a good number having joined since the annual training camp, and the number of recruits is likely to be further increased before the end of the volunteer year.

A district class of instruction for officers* and N.C.O.'s of the 2nd kegiment, A M.R., is to be held in Hamilton in the evening from 23rd to 27th, and a good number have promised to attend.
