WOOD-CHOPPING AND SAWING EXHIBITION.

On Saturday evening Messrs D. Pretty and C. W. Casey gave an exhibition of wood-chopping and sawing in the schoolhouse, Morrinsville. Both men were in splendid form, and there was a very good attendance, including a number of ladies. The following were the times recorded

Standing block, 12-iueh : C. W. Casey, 275.

Standing block, 12-inch: D. Pretty,

17s. Single-handed sawing, 18-inch block ; O. W. Casey, 41s. Double-handed sawing, 18-inch block: Pretty and Casey, 12s. Underhand chop, IS-inch block: C. W. Casey, liu, 2s. A couple of local men made a very creditable show in the double-handed sawing—(Own Correspondent).
