PIAKO RUGBY UNION,

The football match on Saturday between Morrinsville and Waihou resulted in a win for the latter team by six points to nil. Mr Power acted as referee in a satisfactory manner.

The match between the Morrinsville and Rotorua schoolboys ended in a draw, three points each. Mr Power acted as referee. RAGLAN V. TE MATA. The football match on Saturday between Raglan and Te Mata resulted in a win for Raglan by 8 points to 3. The representative match between Paevoa and Karangahake was played at Mackaytown on Saturday, Karangahake winning by 17 points to 8. G. Gillett, the New Zealand rep., was allowed to play for Karangahake, and he is described as the hero of the match, practically winning the game for his side. His long punts were splendid, and his goal from the field was a smart piece of work, He also converted two out of three tries. Mr Gillett is now in Hamilton, staying with bis father at Kirikiriroa, and advantage will be taken of this fact by a few of his old football friends to tender him a farewell smoke concert in Hamilton on Thursday evening. The matter is being taken up with enthusiasm, and a large gathering of old sports is looked for,
