SALE OF MR DOUGLAS' BRUNTWOOD PROPERTY.

Last evening Mr George McGullagh, of Messrs McNicol and Coy., effected the sale of the well-known Bruncwood property, comprising 1012 acres of first-class laud and homestead, at a very satisfactory figure to the vendor, Mr W. M. Douglas. The purchaser is Mr F. K. Ross, late of Dunedin, who, until lately, was one of the principal partners in the firm of Sargood, Sous, aud Ewen, and he came to Cambridge to net the benefit of the climate. Mr Ross is anxious to take over the place as soon as possible, and we understand that Mr Douglas will sell his stock, furniture, etc., by auction home time before this and the beginning of March. We have not heard- what Mr Douglas intends doing, but we sincerely trust that ho will not quit the Waikato. for he is one of those we can ill afford to lose. As Master of the Waikato Hounds he was extremely popular, and nothing would please the inhabitants better than for him to resume that position. However, wherever he goes, he and his family will take with them the hearty good wishes of the community ; and at the same time the purchaser of the estate will receive a hearty welcome.
