He had erected a new bridge, known as the Lagoon bridge, near Taupiri, reducing the span from 16ft to 10ft, the approaches being filled with earth. He had re-decked the Taupiri bridge, repaired cuttings and cut dowu scrub from Taupiri to Taylor's place, and renewed the old fence at Jackson's landing on the Great South Road. He had done six days' carting on Gray's road, and the cuttings of this road bad been attended to, except one gully, which requiries a box culvert and fiiliug up. The damage done by the late heavy rains had been repaired, except at Powell's cutting on the River road, but he had arranged with Mr C. Wallace to attend to this.
