The following team has been selected by Mr C. Speight to represent Hamilton against Waikato on Saturday next on Sydney Square Full-back Woods; three-quaiters—Tait, Tike, J. Moore ; five eighths Featherstonhaugh ; half— Johnson ; wings—F. limes and laylor ; forwards—Holloway, Storey. Harwood, Munktelow, C. Inoes, McGarrigle, T. Moore. Emergencies ; Ef! Davidson, J, Wallace, Livingstone (backs), Simms (wing forward), Hughes, Clarkiu, Corboy, Magner (forwards). Taken as a whole, the selection made could not be improved upon, being both strong in attack and defence. The forwards are a fast, willing lot, while the backs are very solid, and spectators can rely on witnessing a real good exhibition of the Rugby game. •

THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM. Sydney, June 26.
Considerable interest is evinoed in the approaching visit of the New Zealand footballers, aud specially in view of the improved form of the local players. Mr Henderson, the manager of the list team to New Zealand, says the local men will not enter the field under the impression that the name of New Zealand means defeat. The Telegraph comments favourably on the forwards, especially the Wairarapa trio, and bel eves that physically it is the hest forward team sent to Australia. The paper has doulits about the backs, aud remarks on the preAdamite flavour given by the inclusion of Duncan.
