HAMILTON RUGBY UNION; [By The Punter], The match between the *A’ and ‘B 1 teams on Satmday last was a well-con-tested one, and some good play was shown on both sides. There were only a couple of alterations made in the personnel of the teams, and the men are to he congratulated for the manner in which they rolled up to the practice. Two spells of 35 minutes each were played, and in the first half the ‘ B ’ team scored three tries (9 points), none of which were converted. The forwards of- the, • B team worked much better than tlifcir opponents, and the spell ended all in their favour.

On resuming the ‘ A’ team played with more comb nation, and were not long in registering their first and only try, although they forced their opponents on several occasions. This was the only score, and the garnd resulted in a wfn for the ‘B 1 team by 9 points [three tries) to 3 (one try).

Mr E. Williamson had charge of the eame, and Messrs Mayes and Murdnson were the linesmen

A couple of accidents happened during the progress of the match. One player had his nasal organ slightly injured, while another had the misfortune to get a serious kiok on the cheekbone. JUNIOR COMPETITION, City v. Suburbs, i

The match between the above junior teams was played on the No, 2 ground, and was won by the Suburbs team by 9 points (three tries) to nil. City had 13 men, but nevertheless they made a good light of it, and it was only in the last 10 minutes that Suburbs scored their points. Ihia match concluded the second round, with the following result:—
