WAIKATO HUNT CLUB.

Tub annual meeting of the members of the Wuikato Hunt Club was liclil ut the National Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday last. Present : Mr VV. M. Douglas (the Master) in the chair, Messrs R. Speuke, 11. Windsor, M. H. Pickering, VV. T. Ciu-r, H. Bullock-Webster, E. Hewitt, .W. Dixon, N. I. Hunt, P.. llannon, A. Hnch (lion, see.), and about a dozen other members. RESIGNATION OK HUNTSMAN. After the minutes of the last meeting had been confirmed, the Secretary read a letter from Mr Hine, resigning his position as huntsman. On the motion of Mr Bullock-Webster, seconded by Mr E. Hewitt, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Hine for the manner in which lie hunted the hounds during last season. Regret was expressed that he could not see his way to continue in the position, but they hoped he would be frequently seen at the meets during the coming season. I'.ALANOK SHEET. The Secretary Mien read a statement of receipts and expenditure for the year as follows :—Receipts : Credit balance at commencement of season, £6 4s 3d ; subscriptions, £9O lfn ; balance from races, £2 4s (id ; total, £99 3a 9d. Kxppiiditure: Salary of huntsman, £BS ; advertising, £'2 ss; dog co'lars tor 189(j, £'2 ; Secretary's account —stamps, stationery, etc., £1 10s ; credit balance at Batik,* £8 Ss 9d ; total, £99 3a 9d. The assets were £9 9s outstanding subscriptions, and the balance at the Buik and the liabilities amount to about £3, so the Club is in a sounder financial position than it was last year. Mr 11, Bullock-Webster then moved that the report and balance-sheet as read be adopted.—This was seconded by Mr Hewitt and carried. MEET DAYS. It was arranged that the hounds should be taken up on April 10th, so as to be ready to commence the season on Saturday May Ist, and which would cm? September 10th, giving practically a season of five months' hunting. After some discussion it was decided in consequence of the public half-holiday, to make Wednesday in each week the regular hunt day and the by-day on Saturdays. HUNTSMAN. The action of the master in arranging with Mr Brown to hunt the pack at a salary of £3 a-week was confirmed, the club to find the food for the hounds. COMMITTEES. The following committees were appointed : General committee: Messrs W. M. Douglas, A. J. Storey, E. Soutcr, M. H, Pickering, W. (;. Park, A H. Storey, W. T. Carr, T. A. Hicks, E. Hewitt, <4. Comer, 11. B. Webster, N. I. Hunt and A. Bach. The meet committee consists of Messrs W. M. Douglas, IT. B. Webster, A. Bach, W. S. Laurie, E. Hewitt ami T. Weatherall. NEW MEMBERS. Messrs Horton and Hunks were elected members of the Club. Ten of those in the room paid their subscriptions. There is a rule that all subscriptions must be paid by 31st of May, and we. understand it will be strictly enforced this season.
