WAIRARAPA PAST GRANDS. The annual meeting of the Loyal Wairarapa Past Grands’ Lodge of Oddfellows was held at Carterton on Thursday evening, Bro. H. H. L. Meyrick presiding over a representative attendance. Two candidates, one from Masterton, were advanced to the Purple Degree and Lecture and given a hearty welcome. Each was afterwards initiated as members of the Lodge. P.D.G.M. Bro. P. M. Smith and P.G. Bro. J. H. Buck acted as examining officers and sponsors during the ceremony. The following were elected to office for the ensuing 12 months: President, P.G. Bro. Lyle Barber; Vice-president, P.G. Bro. R. Baikie; Lecture Master, P.G. Bro. H. H. L. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded the honorary auditors and the ritual judges for their past year’s services, and were carried by acclamation. Loyal Heart of Oak, Loyal Masterton and Loyal Greytown Lodges signified their intention of again contesting for the Ritual Shield, members of Loyal Unity advising that their Lodge would in all probability be contestants again in 1937.
