THE BUDGET.
TO BE BROUGHT DOWN ON TUESDAY. PROGRESS ON BILLS YESTERDAY, (By Telegraph—“ The Age” Special.) Wellington, July 31. During the daylight sitting of the House of Representatives to-day the Dominion Museum Bill, making changes in the constitution of the governing body, was passed. The Law Reform Bill (the Hon. H. G. R. Mason) was read a first time and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. The Political Disabilities Removal Bill was Introduced and read a first time. Just before the adjournment, the Alsatian Dogs Bill, in charge of Mr. W. J. Polson received some attention in Committee, but the short title was still under discussion when the House adjourned till Tuesday, when the Budget will be presented in the evening.
