PERSONAL.
Colonel Lindbergh and Mrs. Lindbergh were among the guests at the King’s dinner party in Buckingham Psiace, a London cablegram reports. Miss Kibblewhite, of the Greytown School, has received an appointment on the staff of the Wadestown School, Wellington. Mr. J. Robertson, M.P., will officially open the new offices of the Akitio County Council at Pongaroa to-day. Mr. Robertson will be in Masterton to-morrow afternoon and on Sunday will be one of a party to make the first trip in one of the new rail cars, which are being constructed for service on the Wairarapa and Manawatu lines.
Mr. W. J. Jordan, High Commission-er-designate for New Zealand, will represent New Zealand on the Council of the League of Nations, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, announced yesterday. Mr. Jordan will be leaving the Dominion shortly 'in order to be present at Geneva when the League of Nations meets in September to elect a new Council. Mr. Jordan’s departure will involve a by-election for the Manakau seat in July or early in August.
