DAIRY INDUSTRY.
THE COMING ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE. PRELIMINARY MEETING IN MASTERTON. The Prime Minister has convened a conference to devise ways and means of placing the dairy industry on a more satisfactory footing. The conference will foe held in Wellington on March 13, with the following representation: Seven delegates from the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, all members of the Dairy Board, one representative of the National Dairy Association, one South Island representative, 45 representatives from the nine dairy wards. A preliminary meeting will be held in the Farmers’ Rooms, Perry Street, Masterton, on Wednesday next, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of formulating suggestions for the conference in Wellington. The provincial president, Mr. H. Morrison, will preside. All provincial districts of the Farmers’ Union will do likewise, and the resujts will be condensed and summarised for presentation to the Wellington' conference. All members who mean to attend the Masterton meeting are invited to forward to the secretary (Mr. James Watson) immediately suggestions or resolutions for inclusion in the agenda paper for that meeting. A list is given below of those who have been invited, necessarily at short notice, to attend the Masterton meeting. Each of fkese is also invited to bring another member possessing constrttetive ideas for tho betterment of the industry.
