W.F.C.A,. STAFFS FAREWELL MR. C. M. BOWDEN. ON E3TE OF TRIP HOME A pleasant function took .place-, yes-r terday afternoon, when the branch and departmental managers of the W.F.C.A. Ltd., entertained Mr. C. M. Bowden (managing director) at afternoon, tea prior to jhis and Mrs. Bowden's departure on a. business and holiday teip to Great Britain, the Continent an<L America. The opportunity was taken to present Mr. Bowden with a handsome travelling rug. Mr. F. EL WWls, in making the presentation, referred to the good! feeling existing botwen Mr. Bowden, and members of the,-Master-ton and branch staffs. He . wished Mr. and Mis. Bowden a pleasant journey and safe return. Messrs. O. Thomsen (Dannevirke), A. Vaughan (Bhhiatua), J. Barker (WellingtonJ,. de Se-rimegour (Greytown), J. Finlay (Martinborou£k), A. Keir, D. P. Sheppard, and J. E.;, MeV. Calwell (Masterton), speaking on behalf of the various branches, also wished Mr. and Mrst.Bttwden Godspeed.

Mr. Bowden, in replying, heartily thanked all for the gift; kind thoughts and spontaneous expression of goodwill. At closing time yesterday the Masterton staff met Mr. Bowden to wish him good-bye. Mr. R. H. Brewerton, on their behalf, asked him to accept a smoker’s outfit as a small token of thcii* goodwill and esteem. He also expressed wishes for an enjoyable trip and safe return. Mi. Bowden, responding, thanked them all for the kind thoughts expressed' and for their acceptable gift.

Mr. and Mrs. Bowden will leave Wellington on Tuesday by the Makura to connect with- the Jervis Bay nc Sydney.
