SHIPPING MAGNATE’S HOPEFUL VIEW. (Received Thursday, 7.10 p.m.) LONDON, April 6. At a Cunard Company meeting, Sir Percy Bates said President Roosevelt’s speeches afforded firm ground for a belief that the worst of America’s depression had passed. He looked forward with greater confidence than at any other time in the last two years to a general recovery in world affairs.
