Mr. Justice Maughan, in the Chancery Division, gave judgment in favour of the Performing Rights Society, in a test action against Hammond’s Bradford Brewery Company, in which he 'decided that loud-speaker reproductions of the Broadcasting Corporation’s broadcasts in hotels and places of entertainment infringed copyright and constituted a new performance entitling the owers of the copyright to royalties. The decision involves a large sum in royalties.
