Y.M.C.A. EFFICIENCY TESTS.
The following is .the result of this year’s Y.M.C.A. water efficiency test for the Morrison Shield:—
L. Maguire, 51 2-3 points; F. Milne and C. Reid, 49 points; R. Hendry, 48 points; M. pool, 47 1-3 points; N. Faulknor, 44 1-3 points. Others competing, in order of place, were:—!. Gordon, H. Edwards, G. Peers, W. Burlin «• L. Pither.
The conditions were as follow:— Open to any member of the Y.M.C.A. Boys’ Department: (1) Swim two laps of baths, free style. (2) Swim one lap of baths, breast stroke. (3) Swim one length of baths, back stroke or on the back. (4) Distance swim under water. (5) Towing in the water. (6) Diving, standing, running and fancy dive. (7) Bring heavy weight from bottom of baths. Rules: (1) The competition is in the nature of an efficiency test in thewater. (2) Points will be awarded for neatness, correct stroking, style, but not for speed. (3) The winner’s name will be engraved on the Shield, which he is entitled to hold in his own home for three months. (4) No previous holders may compete for the Shield though he may enter in the events. ’
