MHUTING OF WAIRARAPA SOCIETY. (“TheeAgo” Special.) The general committee of the Wairarapa I‘. and A. Society met at Cartertdn on Saturday, Mr. Geo. Hart (president) in the chair. The trasurer reported a debit imlance at the bank of £177 7s 7d. The General Account was in debit £664 Os lOd; Kent Street Property Account, credit, £1847 9. 4d; Hall Account, credit, £1334 3s 7d; Deposit Account, credit, £lOOO. Receipts since last meeting, £484 13* Ud. Accounts amounting to £7O .16* Id were passed. The Carterton Borough Council wrote agreeing to install a water connection to tho office. Letters of thanks are to be forwarded to sever*! judges who donated their expenses to the society. It was decided to write thanking the Hon. A. D. McLeod, M.P., for his effort* in having tho nociety included a* a beneficiary in the No. 20 Art Union. It was resolved to donate £2 2* toward* the cost of importing a parasite to combat the white butterfly jswt which has become such a serious menace to all cruciferous crops. A considerable amount of research work ha* already been done by Mr. J. Muggeridge. Tho tender of Mr. T. A. Hamilton was accepted for tho grazing rights of tho Kent Htreot property. Two junior members were prooosod, and two resignation* accepted. It was decided to renew tho Rugby Union ’* lense of tho Showground* for five years, tho rental to lie mutually arranged each yenr. For tho coming year it will bo £BO, the name a* last season.
