REPAIRS TO ’PLANES.
ZK—ABE BEING RECONSTRUCTED.
READY IN FORTNIGHT.
At a well-attended meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Aero Club last night, at which members were present from Dannevirke, Pahiatua, Martinborough, Carterton and Masterton, it was unanimously decided to repair ZK —ABE, which was badly damaged in a crash at Carterton recently and also to continue the repairs to ZK —ACD. The reconditioning of the latter has been further delayed as one wing and several new parts purchased for it were used for ZK—ABE after the latter crashed at Woodville about six weeks ago. It is anticipated that ABE will be ready for the air within a fortnight.
A general discussion took place on ways and means of improving the club's finances. Further consideration to the matter will be given at the usual monthly meeting to be held on July 20. A special general meeting of members has been called for to-night, when other proposals will be considered. It is expected that an official inquiry into the ZK —ABE crash will be held in the near future.
