LABOUR IN AUSTRALIA.
REVOLUTIONARY PROPOSALS IN ABEYANCE. ATTITUDE OF THE CAUCUS TO BANKS. MEETING MATURING LOANS. CANBERRA, November 4. It is unlikely that the revolutionary programme of the Federal Labour Party in respect of the control of the Commonwealth Bank and a compulsory extension of credits will be unfolded during the current session. The federal Caucus decided that the Commonwealth Bank should be asked to assist the Government in meeting its internal loans maturing shortly; also those maturing in other (financial years; that the Ministry ask the Commonwealth Bank to agree to raising a loan of twenty million sterling, so that works of a productive character can be financed; and that an increase of the note issue to enable this finance to be arranged be requested. N.S.W. CAUCUS. MR. LANG AND HIS MINISTERS. SYDNEY, November 4. A remarkable feature of the StateLabour caucus meeting was the defeat of Mr. Lysaght in the ballots for selection for the Ministry. Mr. Lang at the elose of the ballots obtained permission, to nominate a fourteenth Cabinet Minister. Having obtained this, he nominated Mr. Lysaght for the portfolio of Attorney-General.
