PRICE OF PETROL
COMPANIES TO BEAR PABT OF INCREASE. REDUCTION OF PENNY PER GALLON. (By Telegraph.—“ The Age” Special.) WELLINGTON, August 25. The petrol importing companies have notified the Government that they propose to continue carrying one penny of the additional petrol duty. Since Parliament reduced the duty by a penny, the retail price has remained nnchanged, which meant that the consumer was carrying the fun increased duty. However, the companies’ latest decision should mean a further penny reduction in the retail price. ,
