S.S.M. KEARNEY, OF NAPIER, THE WINNER. NAVAL MAN COMBS SECOND. , DECIDING MATCH. TRENTHAM, March 15. Little fault could, be found with the weather when the final 100 took their positions on the mounds on the Collins and Sommerville ranges at 8.80 o’clock this morning in the King’s Medal match, the final and most important match of the Army Rifle Association’s meeting. The winner, S.S.M., J. H. Kearney, of Napier, put up a very fine score of 155 out of a possible of 200. Commissioner-Gunner A. H. Pryce, of H.M.S. Diomede, was second with 153. The match consisted of four practices—Boo yards slow (600 yards to 100 yards time with movements), 300 yards rapid, 300 yards enap-shooting in the open ,each practice having a maximum number of points of 50. S.S.M. Kearney’s card read as follows:—40, 40, 33, 42—155. Cmd.-Gnr. A. H. Pryce’s card read, 42, 35, 31, 45—153. Artificer E. W. Jepson (N.Z.A.0.C.), (Wellington) was third, with 150.
