REVENUE EXPANDING.
SATISFACTORY POWER BOARD FINANCE.
At yesterday’s meeting of the Wairarapa Power Board, at Carterton, the Secretary-Manager (Mr. Geo. Brown) reported that the revenue for January and February was very satisfactory, and showed a substantial increase compared with the corresponding period of last year. The increase in gross revenue for the two months was: January, £568 19s 4d, and February, £606 9s Bd. Total, £1175 ,9s. The increase in. net revenue was: January, £398 14s 7d; February, £617 6s 6d; total £lOl6 Is Id. The increases were: Light and heat, £314 18s lid; cooking and heat,. £5B Is 3d; power, £197 4s 8d; meter rents and hire showed a decrease of £1 5s 6d. The net increase in ordinary revenue excluding street lighting, to February 28, 1929, compared with the same period of last year, is £3853 12s. Id. The estimated increase for the year was £3038, so that there is every indication that the revenue for the year will exceed the estimate by £lOOO.
