COMING BATTLE
HEENEY AND VON PORST IN GOOD FETTLE. LITTLE CHOICE BETWEEN TWO I BOXERS. A DUEL OP RIGHT HANDS. 9 United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Tuesday, 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 11. News from Chicago states that Heeney and Von Porst have completed training and are announcing themselves in. fine condition for a ten-round bout to-morrow. The fighters both went through shadow boxing and rope skipping to-day. There appears to be little choice between the two. Heeney looked in an excellent state when he arrived, despite his loss against Maloney. Von Prost is believed to have greatly improved. The battle is expected to be a duel of
. right hands, with which each is a hard [ hitter, with Heeney a shade the bet- . ter boxer. It is believed that Heeney ' will try to outbox Von Porst. Von Porst says that he will try to pene- ’ trate Heeney’s boxing defence to cross ‘ his right to Toni’s jaw. To-day there has been some discussion on the referee when Harvey said that he desired to protect himself against “another Maloney decision,” but it is expected that the matter will be settled shortly. Harvey said, “We won that fight, even though Maloney got the decision. I paid no attention who the referee would be but I am paying attention from now on.” News from Boston states that Maloney, as a result of his victory over Heeney, has been matched against Schmelling, a German fighter, for a heavyweight elimination bout in June here. Schmelling’s recent victory over Johnny Risko brought him into prominence.—(Australian Press Association.)
