PIGEON RACING.
MASTERTON CLUB MEET REPORT FROM FEDERATION A meetiag of the Masterton Homing Pigeon Club was held in the Queen's Hotel on Saturday night, when all members attended. It was decided to purchase stop watches. Rings for the coming season were distributed. The secretary presentedl the balance sheet which showed that the club was in a sound financial position. A report of the Federation meeting held in Palmerston_North was read. It stated that the conditions for the season are: North Island flyers fly south and South Island flyers fly north, which makes it necessary that all birds competing must cross Cook Straits 'The distance is to be 400 milea or more. The prize for this race is xIOO cash and -a twenty-five guinea cup donated by Mr. R. Patterson, of Wanganui. The Masterton Club’s first race'v. ill take place on September 1. ~ k
