PARLEY TO CONTINUE
UNEMPLOYMENT CONFERENCE IN SYDNEY. AUSTRALIAN WORKERS’ UNION POLICY. WITHDRAWAL CONDEMNED. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) l (Received Wednesday, 7.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 4. Despite the withdrawal of the Labour Council’s delegates, the Minister of Labour has decided that the Unemployment Conference shall proceed. After Easter, he I will invite each section of the manufacturing industry to discuss the difficulty and negotiations will continue with other representatives of the employees who have signified their intention of attending. A statement issued by the Australian Workers' Union emphatically disagrees with tho action of the Labour Council in running away from the conference, adding: “The Australian Workers’ Union will continue to attend, having made certain practical proposals to the Government, which, if adopted, will greatly increase employment and help industry.—(P.A.) (An earlier message, announcing tho withdrawal of the Labour Council delegates from the conference appears on page 2.)
