Y.M.C.A. SPORTS CLUBS.
HOCKEY AND ASSOCIATION TEAMS. At a meeting of all those interested in Y.M.C.A. sports clubs, held in the Association’s Rooms recently, it was decided to enter teams in both the hockey and association football competitions. The prospects of both teams having a good season were regarded as particularly bright. A group of Association football enthusiasts met together later, and resolved to form a club to play under the auspices of the Y.M.C.A.; and to adopt the same colours as the hockey club. Mr. J. Watson was elected president of the club, and Messrs. T. L. Elder, G. Masters, W. White and A. Bowlands vice-presi-dents. Mr C. MacDonald was unanimously elected captain, with. Messrs. Costello and Reynolds as secretary and treasurer respectively. Other business transacted included the election of delegates to the Football Association, the election of an executive committee, and the appointment of a small committee to confer with the hockey club with a view to co-operation in the matter of securing playing fields. It was decided to train on Thursday . nights, and to call a general meeting of the club for Tuesday, April 10, at 7.30 p.m. The annual meeting of the hockey club is also to be held after Easter.
