DOMINION CONGRESS ENDED. CRAKANTHOBPE THE WINNER. DUNEDIN, Jan. 6.—The Chess Oon grees concluded to-day, with the foliowing results:—■ Round 3. —Barnes v. Stenhouse. This unfinished game went to 100 moves and Stenhuuse resigned. Anderson v. Crakanthorpe (French defence). —Crakanthorpe, needing only a draw, played with extra caution and obtained his end. Erskine v. Moir. —This unfinished game developed into a complicated game and was won by Moir. Pihl v. Barnes.—Barnes, with his material advantage, eventually won the final. The position of the players is:— Crakanthorse 6, Barnes 5), Dunlop S Moir 4, Stenhousc 3, Erskine I|, Pihl Ij, Anderson IJ. Consolation Section. In the finals, Davies defeated Ihirdy, Miller defeated Hicks and Keeling defeated Fairburn. The unfinished game, Miller v. Davies, was not completed when the time arrived for the presentation of the prizes, and Delias then resigned. The final position of the players is: Purdy 4, Miller 4, Davies 3J, Kellmg 3, Hicks 1, Fairburn 1J. —(P.A.)
