HUNTING THE WAPITI.

MASTERTON PARTY LEAVES TO-DAY.

Messrs V. E. Donald,, H. E. Hart, J Cooper (Gladstone), R Renall (Kokotau), and Sutherland Brothers (Hinakura) leave to-day for the fiord country to hunt wapiti.

Messrs Donald, Hart and Benall will make in from Caswell Sound, while Mr Cooper will join Mr L. Murrell at George Sound. Conversing with an “Age” representative, Mr Donald stated that as this was his third tnp he did not anticipate being so long away as on the last two, as they knew now where the game was located, and/ much time previously spent exploring w-ould thus be - saved.

The party will be" away for a month or six weeks.
