SATURDAY’S GAMES.

MASTERTON v. CAETEBTON.

The Carterton A team visited the Masterton courts on Saturday and were defeated by Masterton A by 16 matches, 24 sets, 215 games to 5 matches, 12 sets, 178 games. Owing to the failing light three combined doubles games were abandoned. Following are the results (Masterton mentioned first). —

Men’s singles.—Welch beat Bunny 6/3, 6/0; Miller lost to Taverner 3/6, 1/6; Hall beat Eoydhouse 6/4, 5/6, 9/7; Martin beat Booth 6/3, 6/3; Johnson lost to Steel 5/6, 2/6; Bogers beat Armstrong 5/6; 6/3, 7/5.

Men’s doubles.—Welch and Miller beat Bunny and Eoydhouse 2/6, 6/0, 6/2; Hall and Martin beat Taverner and Booth 6/2, 2/6, 7/5; Johnson and Bogers lost to Steel and Armstrong 6/3, 5/6, 2/6. Ladies’ singles.—Miss Bradley beat Mrs Booth 9/4, Miss Atkinson lost to Mrs Steel 4/9, Miss Napier beat Miss Feast 9/7, Miss Lenz beat Miss Fisher 9/3, Miss Kerslake beat Miss Peters 9/7, Mrs Prior beat Miss Bridge 9/7. Ladies ’ doubles.—Misses Bradley and Atkinson lost to Mesdames Booth and Steel 3/9; Miss Napier and Mrs Prior beat Misses Feast and Fisher 11/9; Mrs Kerslake and Miss Lenz beat Misses Peters and Bridge 10/8.
