RIFLE SHOOTING.
MASTERTON—-OPAKI CLUB.
The above club held their final field day on Saturday, 21 members attending. The combined scores of the two field days decide a number of valuable trophies together with the club championship. Weather conditions were the worse possible and at times shooting was impossible. The long ranges had to be abandoned and the second scries was completed at the short ranges. J. McKenzie, who won the championship, shot consistently, and his win was exceedingly popular. H. H. Mawley was runner-up. The grand aggregate (with handicap added) was won by 8. McKay with F. Shaw as the runner-up. Williams Rose Bowl.—Short range aggregate: (scores from both field days counting) was won by F. Shaw, H. King and S. McKay tieing fox second place.
Donald Cup.—Long range aggregate won by S. McKay, with W. L. Free, the second man.
Championship aggregate scores were:—J. McKenzie 341, H. H. Mawley 337, B. J. King 335, S. McKay 330, H H. Donald 328 Grand aggregate (handicaps added). —B. McKay 355, F. Shaw 351, H. King 349, J. McKenzie 341, E. Wrigley 339. Short range aggregate.—F. Shaw 194, H. King 185, S. McKay 185. Long range aggregate.—B. McKay 170, W. L. Free 168, F. Shaw 167. The top scorers on Saturday were:— FIRST SERIES.
