SOUTH WAHURAFA ITEMS. (“The Age” Special.) Obituary. The death is recorded from the Ixiwer Valley of a well known native in the person of Mr Kahu Piripi, at the age of 66 years. He had been ailing for some time. He is survived by a wife and three sons. Street Naming. The matter of renaming some of the streets in Greytown is to be considered by the Borough Council, and it has been suggested that some ot the names should be Bey street, Tully street, Boges street, and Heagerty street in memory of deceased gentle men who in years gone by were associated with the town. Shop Day. A shop day, held under the auspices ot the Carterton Horticultural Society for the purpose of raising funds to purchase challenge trophies, realised Sl7. Milk Supply. The daily supply of milk at the Lower Valley Dairy Factory is now 1700 gallons. Personal. Mrs Sprott, of the Solomon Island Mission, and at one time of the Korea Mission, is visiting the South Wairarapa. Rifle Shooting. The Lower Valley aggregate shield has been won by Mr James Carroll, Mr K. Munro being runner-up. Mr G. Te Whaite won the cup. Land Court. Mr Hope Pohata, of Ngaio Lodge. Kohunui, has been attending a sitting of the South Island Land Court.
