Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Sept 21: — London skin sales: —5300 bales of sheepskins were offered and 20 per cent withdrawn. The range of prices is:—Short and shorn 8d to 9d, xbd 1 to fine 13d to 18d, xbd | to coarse 73d to 113 d, xbd ;} to fine 83d to 13d, xbd 4 to coarse 53 d to 9d, xbd short and shorn to Bd, lambs 9d to 15d. At the fortnightly skin sales at Wellington on Friday excellent competition was forthcoming for sheepskins, but no improvement was found in prices for hides. Calfskins which improved in price at previous sale were lower by 3d to Id per lb. Tallow was in good demand at about last sale’s values. FEILDING SALE. HEAVY YARDING OF CATTLE. There was a record entry of store cattle at the Feilding sale on Friday, there being roughly about 1500 head penned. Those anticipating good prices were disappointed, and the bulk of the yarding were passed in under the hammer. Prices were down considerably, and the absence of Auckland buyers may have affected the position. Fat cattle met with fair competition, but fat sheep were down on last week’s sale. There was a fair yarding of fat ewes, but the quality was patchy. There wa s a small yarding of dairy stock, which were accommodated in the sheep pens, along with the younger cattle, which could not find room in the cattle pens. The following are some of the prices realised: Fat lambs, 22/6 to 25/; b.f. lambs to 33/; ewe5,.,27/3, 30/9, 31/1, 33/1, 34/, 35/, 37/6, to 50/6 the lat-

ter price being for a pen of three very prime sheep; maiden ewes to 36/; wethers 34/, 42/, to 50/6, the last two prices being for odd sheep. Fat cattle: Cows £4 10/ to £4 16/; bullocks to £9 10/; fat and forward bullocks, £6 12/6 to £7 17/6; fat and forward cows, £2 1/ to £3 18/. Store sheep: Ewe hoggets, 32/5; wether hoggets, 25/, 25/5, 25/9, to 32/; mixed hoggets, 24/; empty ewes, 17/ to 27/; b.f. hoggets 23/3 to 27/; ewes with lambs 45/. Store cattle: Yearling steers, £2 10/; two-year- steers, £3 6/; Shorthorn and Hereford bullocks to £7 2/6. Bulk of yarding passed in.
