WINTER SPORTS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the club took place in the Y.M.O.A. on Thursday evening, there being a very large attendance. Mr Allan presided. The balance sheet and annual repott (as appearing in the “Age” on Thursday) were received as read. Mr H. Loudon said he wished to place on record the club’s appreciation of the services rendered by Mrs Edwards and the secretary (Mr S. Wilson). He extended congratulations to the winners of last year’s trophies and hoped they would again enter comfljetitions for the coming season.
The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr Jas. Allan; vice-presidents, Messrs L. A. Wadham, D. Edwards, L. S. Nicol; committee, Mesdames D. Edwards, C. W. McArtney, J. Allan, R. Wilton, Misses McKenzie, Olliver, Selby (2), dark (2), and Cumberworth, Messrs C. Oxenham, J. Vesty, H. iLoudon, E. Scandrett, G. Joy, L. Person, R. Wilton, W. McArtney, F. Heijiry H. Velvin, S. Finlayson, E. Stahiforth; hon. sec. and tree., Mr S. Wilson; hon. auditor, Mr W. McArtney; handicappers, Messrs J. Allan,; C. Oxenham and J. Vesty; selectors, Messrs W. McArtney, J. Vesty. The annual subscription was fixed at 5s for men an 2s 6d for ladies. Providing suitable rooms can be obtained, the season will open on April 14. Silver cups for competition have been donated to the club by Mr L. Nicol and Mr L. Wadham. It is the intention of the club to again cater for quoit players, in addition to providing ample accommodation for ping pong enthusiasts. Skipping will also be added to the list of attractions. The club is now enrolling members, and those desirous of joining the club are requested to do so as soon as possible in order that they may derive the full benefits for the coming season.
