TEAMS FOR MASTERTON.
The question of the provision of a tramway service for Masterton will have to be faced in the very near future. The population of the borough and its environs is increasing by leaps and bounds, and, in the course of a few years, we Biiall become one of the most important residential, commercial, educational, and industrial centres in the Dominion. The establishment of woollen mills in the near future will give an impetus to the place, and other industries may be expected to almost immediately follow. What we must now strive for is the provision of hydro-electric power, at the earliest possible moment. If the Government is going to bo dilatory over the Mangahao schemo, we must take time by the forelock, and do the work ourselves. As soon as the hydro-electric power available, we must be prepared to institute a tramway system that will bring the outlying portions of the town into closer touch with the centre.
