THE ALLIANCE CRASH
OFFICIAL JNVESTIGATION. (By Electric Telegraph.—G>pyright.) (Au»tralian-N.Z. Cable Association.) Received Last Night, 11.30 o'clock. LONDON, Nov. 14. The disaster will be officially investigated by the Air Ministry. Officials visited tho scene to-day. The present theory is that tho machine developed a spin in the mist, and the pilot discovered it too late to prevent the crash. Tho speed indicator showed 157 iniloa. fit is one of the curious difficulties ol" flying in mist or fog, without sight of a landmark, that it is sometimes impossible to tell how tho machine is behaving. The compass may fail completely to show even a spinning course, owing to the centrifugal effect of the spin'forcing it out of action.]
