ALFREDTON-WEBER ROAD.
A TENDER' ACCEPTED
Tenders' closed with th.> Masterton County Council on Wednesday for tho metalling of one mile of the Al-fredton-Weber road, in the Tiraiimea district. Two tenders were received, that of Messrs. Gadsby and Bartlott, at 13s 6d per cubic yard, or £9BB 16s for tho whole contract, being accepted. The other tenderer was Mr. Martin Kerina, at £1,070. Messrs. Gadshy. and Bartlett have been carrying out a number of important contracts lately in tho Akitio County. Several miles of metalling will still be required to complete the communication between. Eketahuna garoa. The Minister of Public Works ha; promised that a substantial grant -will appear on next year's estimates tOAvards tho work.
