An influential group of financiers, discussing the financial crisis at the Academy of Political Science, Philadelphia, advocated a central Government bank, which would handle Government finances and possess the sole right to issue bank notes. NEW YORK, December 3. Out of twenty-five million pounds worth of gold imported into New York since the outset of the financial crisis, 23£ millions was from Great Britain.
