WEDDINGS.

VAI-iLANCE—SORIMGEOUR. A very pretty wbdding and one in which considerable interest was taken was celebrated at the Mastertou Pres« byterian Church, yesterday afteruoon. The contracting parties were Mr C. K. Vallance, nephew of Mr 0. F. Vallance, of Maaterton, and Miss Jessie Sorimgeour, third daughter of Mr A. 0. Sorimgeour, tbo proprietor of the Glnb Hotel. There was a large attendance oil relatives aud friends at the Ohnrcb.l The bride, who was giceu away by ber father, wore a beautiful dre9a of white taffeta silk, handsomely trimmed with Brussels lace aud silver ornaments She also wore a neatly trimmed white bat to match. The tridesmaids were Miss Millie Sorimgnoui, sister of the bride, aud Miss Iflila Vallance, cousin of thebridegroom. Both wore gracefully attired in cream Eton costumes, with white hats. They aUo carried white and yellow bouquets, which were oniumeuted with tangerine ribbons, the racing colours of the b.idegraom. Mr L. Vallance, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, aud Mr (>. Sorimgeour, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Mrs Sorimgeour, mother ot the bride, wore a dress of black crepe-de-obine, trimmed with black laoe, with blaok and white bat; Mrs Vallance, auut of the bridegroom, a, orea-j oostume with green hat; Miss Sorimgeour, cream Etou costume, trimmed with pale blue aud blaok and white hat; Misa Mary Sorimgeour, grey Eton costume with white hat, trimmed with pink roses; Mrs Gow, auot of the bride, black Bilk gown, with black and white toqne; Mrs Baker, aunt of the bride, black silk dress with pink and blaok bonnet: Mrs Young, aunt of bride, blue voile with black bonnet. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Pateraon. Subsequently a large number of guests and friends sat down to a sumptuous breakfast, at the Club Hotel. A long list nf toasts was honoured. The newly-wedded couple were the recipients of many oon» gra'tulations and good wishes. The bride's present to the bridegroom wasadilver-mounted dressingcase. The bridegroom presented the bride with a garnet and pearl bangle, and the bridesmaids with cable bangles. The presents received were both Jostly and mmerous. , After the reception Mr and Mrs C. R. were driven to Carterton in a buggy, drawn by four bay horses. There they caught the train for Wellington, en route for Obristohurub, where the honeymoon is to be spout.

. OLARIDGE-SPACKMAN. At the Masterton Methodist Church, 'yesterday afternoon, Miss Ada Ellen Spaokman, seoond daughter of the late Mr A. Spackman, of Masterton, was m Med to Mr A. h\ Claridge, of Terwika. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr W. L. Spaokman, of Taranaki. She wore a pretty dress of grey silk voile, trimmed with silk, and acoordeonpleated chiffon. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and oarried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses Muriel Spaceman, sister of the bride, Miss Ethel Claridge, sister of the bridegroom, and the Misses Iris and Edna Spaokman, nieces of the bride. Misses Muriel Spaokman and Ethel Ularidge were attired in cream nans veiling, and the Misses lrjs and Edna Spaukman in oream silk. Mlsb Muriel Spaokman oarried a bouquet of flowers, and the other bridesmaids oarried baskets of flowers. Mr 0. Sowman was best man. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Key. J. N. Buttle. 'lhe "Wed* ding March" was played by Miss Church. A reception was afterwards held in the Boxing Hall. Mr and Mrs A. F. Claridge left by the afternoon train for the South. The bride's travelling dress was of blue cloth.
