MANAWATU v. TARANAKI. By Telegraph.—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., August 1. The representative hockey match, Manawatu v. Taranaki was played here to-day and resulted la a draw, eaoh side scoring two goals. The game was fast throughout, though not a flrßt-class exhibition as regards science, tba looal men particularly displaying lack of usual combination. Both teams were in great oondition and played with daah from start to the finish. Taranaki possess a very strong ghalf-baok line, and a obaaiDion goalkeeper in Crawford. Goals were scored for Manawata by Waldegrave (2), and for TaranaKi by Oathro and Jordan. The visitors oontinue their tour to Wellington to-morrow.
