A •well-attended meeting peka Horticultural Society's committee of management was held in the Council Ohainjbers on Friday evening to consider matters in cownootAon with Daffodil Day. Correspondence was read from friends in Dunedin showing that the Dunedin Horticultural Society, the Dunedin Fjxpansion League, the headmeters , a «l teachers of -the.various schools and a considerable number of the public were taking qiuite a keen interest in the proposed institution of " Daffodil Day," and there was every prospect of a largo influx of visitors to Lawrenoe on that day. With a view to malting- the most suitable arrangements possible a committee consisting of Messrs H. Hart, H. L. Darbon and J. C. Browne were appointed to arrange a conference in Dunedin with representatives of the various societies which lvavo shown ian interest in the matter and also interview the Traffic Manager of Hallways. •Wednesday, October 9th, was decided upon as the date, n nd the secretary was instructed to make arrangements to secure the Town and Volunteer Halla.
