THE BIGGEST CAB RANK IN THE WORLD.
The rank at the Waterloo terminus in London of the London and South Weil* tern Railway Company extends from York Road underueaih the railway arches, up to the arrival platform, and ia between a third and a quarter of a mile in length. Upwards of a thousand oata are oalled in the course of the 24 hours. Waterloo is the only London station where the system' of privileged cabs does not exist, but where the rank within the station premises is open to all-comers, on payment of a toll of one penny, so long aa there is Bpace upon the rank. There would ba, if all the London cabs were pat in a Hue, a total length of 44 miles of cabs, and yet in London there is only room for 23 miles of cabs, leaving 21 miles always crawling about the streets.
