PROTECTION OF BUSH.

Society Formed on West Coast. (Special to the " Star.”) GREYMOUTH, This Day. Under the aegis of the Greymouth branch of the Canterbury Automobile Association, a committee has been formed for the specific purpose of preserving, as far as possible, by road, river, lakeside and beach, the natural bush of Westland, as well as the bird life that is incidental to the native forest of the Dominion. At a special meeting of the committee, the name of Mr E. L. Kehoe was added to the executive. On the motion of Dr W. M’Kay, seconded by Mr F. Harley, Mr Kehoe was appointed secretary of the Scenic Protection Committee for the current year. It was further resolved that the Wesllartd Progress League be written to and asked to co-operate with the Scenic Protection Committee in a stand against the threatened sacrifice of a magnificent stretch of roadside bush in South Westland.
