Dealers Want Amendment to Law. “ Star ” Parliamentary Reporter. WELLINGTON, This Day. A request that motor-cycle dealers should not be subject to the provisions of the Second-hand Dealers Amendment Act, which requires purchasers of second-hand goods to retain the goods for one month without in any wav altering them, was made to the Hon J. G. Cobbe to-day by a deputation representative of dealers. The Minister replied that prior to the passing of the Act a large number of articles, and in particular motorcycles, which had been stolen had been re-sold and immediately altered out of recognition, making it , impossible for the police to trace the article. However, in view of the representations of the deputation he would consult the police on the points raised.
